Four Wavelengths. Four Depths. One Pass.
Light of different wavelengths stops at different depths in skin. That is the whole idea behind a light-therapy mask, and it is the reason this one carries four wavelengths rather than one. Below is what each band is, in plain language, and what is and is not known.
What Photobiomodulation Actually Is
Photobiomodulation is the name for what happens when certain wavelengths of red and near-infrared light are absorbed by your cells. The light is taken up by an enzyme in the mitochondria called cytochrome c oxidase. It is a well-studied field with thousands of published papers, and it is also a field where the honest answer to many questions is still "it depends on wavelength and dose".
This is not heat, and it is not ablation. It is different physics entirely from an in-clinic resurfacing device, and it should never be described as equivalent to one.
The Four Bands

465 nm · Blue
Surface
The shortest of the four. Blue light is absorbed at the very surface of the skin and does not travel far into it.

630 nm · Red
Upper dermis
Visible red — this is the glow you can see during a session. Red is the best-studied band in the photobiomodulation literature.

850 nm · Near-Infrared
Deeper dermis
Invisible to the eye. Longer wavelengths are absorbed less at the surface, so more of the light reaches deeper layers.

1064 nm · Deep Infrared
Deepest reach
The longest of the four and the deepest-reaching. Also invisible, which is exactly why you should never judge whether a mask is working by what you can see.
No emitter produces one flawless wave. Every LED has a small tolerance around its stated wavelength and spreads its output over a band of nanometres. The number on a specification sheet is the centre of that band, not a single pure line.
280 Beads, Across the Whole Face
The mask carries 280 LED beads across a full-face array, so the light reaches the forehead, cheeks, nose, chin and jawline in the same pass rather than being moved from spot to spot. It runs five modes and a 10, 15 or 20 minute timer, and it is operated by its own wireless remote — nothing to hold, nothing to plug in.
